Use this thread repair kit for restoring a damaged internal thread with wire thread inserts when a damaged internal thread must be rebuilt rather than only cleaned.
Application Method
- Confirm that you have selected the correct size for the repair.
- Remove any debris and damaged thread material from the repair area.
- Use the preparation tool specified in the kit procedure, keeping it aligned with the original axis.
- Create/re-form the receiving thread using the repair system's corresponding STI tap.
- Clean the prepared thread before the insert comes into contact with the component.
- Install the insert into the thread using the special installation tool included in the kit.
- Complete the installation process by removing the tang, if required.
- Verify smooth screw engagement and document the repair if your process requires traceability.
