The hose connection swivels freely, preventing the vacuum hose from tangling during operation. The front section of the shroud can be opened or slid back, allowing you to sand right up to the edge of a wall or into corners. When closed, it provides a completely sealed enclosure.
It features a soft-bristled brush around the perimeter, which contains dust inside until it is captured by the vacuum; the brush is replaceable once it becomes worn.
